President Trump said “My highly respected nominee for CIA Director, Gina Haspel, has come under fire because she was too tough on Terrorists.” “Think about that, in these very dangerous times, we have the most qualified person, a woman, who Democrats want out because she is too tough on terror.”
Wow, I would never be approved because if I thought I could get a terrorist to talk to save even 1 American life I would have no problem sticking a 12 gauge double barrel shot-gun up his rear and threaten to pull the trigger and if he didn’t talk, and if he refused to talk pull the trigger in front of the other terrorist and repeat until one of them talked.
It is Haspel’s role in the harsh treatment of terror suspects after the Sept. 11 attacks that is at the root of their concern. Did you understand that, after September 11 the Democrats are criticizing her for using extreme interrogation techniques to get information to protect all of us.
The reason we are now still having to deal with North Korea is because when General Douglas McArthur presented his plan to end the Korean war, Democrats demanded that President Truman should fire him because his plan was too tough.
Had we have not used extreme interrogation techniques Osama Bin Laden would most likely be still at large.
Nearly all Republicans except Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky are expected to vote for Haspel, but she would need at least one Democrat to be confirmed. Vice President Mike Pence, as president of the Senate, can be called on to break a tie vote.
Democrat Pete Manchin who is one of the few objective Democrats said “She’s a professional, and deserves the right for us to open-mindedly — and in a very open way — listen to her, letting her explain herself and the job that she’s done for her country.” Manchin has not disclosed how he would vote.
All the Democrats want to do is “obstruct, point fingers and make excuses”.
